FIERCE political debate is expected across Tameside as the borough sees its local elections on Thursday, May 2.
Unlike last year, when every representative on Tameside Council was elected, each of the 19 wards will return one candidate.
And it promises to be keenly fought, with four independents – Aaisha Ajmal, Kaleel Khan, Philip Fitzpatrick and Steven Barton – making an impression.
The Green Party is also hoping to get at least one councillor again and hopes are high Lee Huntbach could follow his success in 2019 and others can follow.
But what do those up for election stand for? What is their background? What would they bring to your area?
