FAMILIES, artists and craft lovers are being invited to a day of creativity and community spirit this weekend.
The 4C Community Centre in Ashton-under-Lyne is holding an arts and crafts festival on Sunday, March 29.
The centre on Taunton Road will open its doors from 11am to 3pm for the free-entry event, which promises a packed programme of activities, from artisan stalls to interactive workshops and a special exhibition celebrating artwork by under-16s.
Visitors will be able to browse a range of handmade goods in the main hall while also supporting young local artists, whose work will be displayed as part of the exhibition.
Alongside the stalls, a series of bookable workshops will run throughout the day in the centre’s meeting rooms, catering to a wide range of ages and abilities.
Activities include bracelet making for children aged six and over, wooden “peg family” crafting, beginner-friendly needle felting sessions, botanical gel printing, and decorative Medium Density Fibreboard (MDF) shape crafting for younger children.
For older participants, a “hare workshop” will give attendees aged 12 and above the chance to create their own moon-gazing hare sculpture from scratch, with the option to return later to paint their finished piece.
Some workshops accept walk-ins, though many require advance booking due to limited spaces, with contact details for facilitators provided in the event listings.
As well as the creative activities, visitors can expect a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, with free parking available on site, full accessibility throughout the venue, and the café open for light refreshments during the day.
