STALYBRIDGE’S much‑loved Street Fest is gearing up for its fifth year of bustling evenings in the heart of the town.
Tameside Council has confirmed it will be returning on Friday, April 10.
What began in 2021 has quickly become one of Tameside’s standout community events, drawing hundreds each month to Armentieres Square for a mix of street food, live entertainment and a family-friendly atmosphere.
The festival has grown into a regular fixture in the calendar, attracting both local people and visitors from further afield.
Running on the second Friday of every month from April to November, the event promises a full programme of activity from 5pm to 9pm. The November date is still to be confirmed, as it may coincide with Christmas celebrations.
Each Street Fest brings together an eclectic blend of performances by local musicians and entertainers, plus activities designed to appeal to all ages, with food and drink traders, championing cuisines from across the world, all set up around the square.

Inside Victoria Market Hall, an Artisan Market will once again showcase independent makers and small businesses. Stalls in previous years have ranged from homemade brownies to handcrafted soaps, honey, candles and other locally sourced products.
Local businesses in the town centre often report a boost on Street Fest evenings, with increased footfall helping to support shops, bars, cafés and restaurants.
Stalybridge councillor and Tameside Council’s leader, Eleanor Wills, said: “We’re so excited for the return of Stalybridge Street Fest! Year after year, it delivers an amazing community evening of fun and excitement for our residents.
“Stalybridge has so much to offer, and this event guarantees footfall and attraction to the town. We love to see the involvement of local traders, talent and businesses too!
“Don’t miss out on the amazing community event – get the dates in your calendars and tell your family and friends!”
