Tameside funeral firm recognised with national award

A TAMESIDE funeral director has been named Independent Funeral Service of the Year after being selected by the Prestige Awards.

Anthony Barton Independent Family Funeral Service has been formally approached by the awards organisation to confirm its winner status.

It followed a judging process based on reader nominations, client feedback and independent assessment.

The Prestige Awards celebrate independent businesses that demonstrate a strong commitment to their communities, alongside high standards of professionalism and ethical practice.

Judges highlighted Anthony Barton Independent Family Funeral Service for its consistency, service excellence and quality of care provided to families at difficult times.

As part of the recognition, Anthony and his partner Tami were invited to Leeds to collect the award, adding to what they described as a particularly meaningful honour.

The Stamford Street firm has built a reputation in Tameside for its personal, compassionate approach, with the judging panel noting that its values are evident across every aspect of its work.

In a statement, Anthony Barton Independent Family Funeral Service said the award reflected the trust placed in them by local families and the wider community, acknowledging the role that client support and feedback played in securing the title.
