Fully funded surgeries launched to support Tameside businesses

A NEW wave of support is sweeping across Tameside as fully funded business surgeries launch to help local firms thrive, with the first two sessions already fully booked.

The initiative, spearheaded by GM Business Growth Hub in partnership with Tameside Council, offers monthly drop-in surgeries across the borough’s nine towns.

These 45-minute, one-to-one sessions give businesses access to expert advice on everything from sales and marketing to risk management and innovation.

The programme is part of a broader effort to bolster business resilience and unlock growth opportunities for entrepreneurs and SMEs. It complements the council’s ongoing “Tameside Means Business” networking events, creating a robust support ecosystem for local enterprises.

Kelly Gray, GM Business Growth Hub’s Tameside Stakeholder Account Manager, said the response so far has been overwhelming:

“These surgeries are a must for all stages of the business cycle, from pre-start to existing businesses looking to grow. The first two surgeries were fully booked, and the feedback we’ve had has been incredible. It’s a testament to the incredible businesses we have in Tameside.”

The launch coincides with the expansion of the Hub’s Tameside team, as Charli Garner joins as a dedicated business advisor alongside Gray. Together, they’ll deliver tailored support across areas such as innovation and workforce development.

Dean Kleban, Business Growth Manager at Tameside Council, added:

“Tameside Council is delighted to be supporting this initiative which will support our businesses and enable growth through one-to-one support tailored to meet their objectives. These bespoke monthly sessions have already proved to be a success and will continue to help drive growth in the local economy.”

The next surgeries, scheduled for December, will focus on innovation and the practical use of tools like artificial intelligence. Businesses interested in attending must book in advance via Eventbrite:

The surgeries are open to all Tameside-based businesses and are completely free to attend.
