Fashion Show fundraiser supports hospice care

A FUNDRAISING fashion night in Stalybridge has once again proved a hit.

More than 140 people flocked to The Lock on Castle Street and raised £4,000 for Willow Wood Hospice.

The event, held on Friday, November 7, marked the sixth Fashion Show that has been organised by the hospice’s retail team.

Guests were greeted with a glass of fizz before taking their seats for the runway showcase, where volunteer models took to the stage wearing a selection of winter outfits.

Once the catwalk lights dimmed, the venue’s downstairs area was turned into a bustling pop-up shop offering pre-loved clothes, shoes and accessories at a fraction of retail prices.

Food, drinks and a popular raffle helped keep the lively atmosphere going throughout the night.

Pauline Lunt, Head of Retail at Willow Wood Hospice, said: “We’re so grateful to everyone who came along and made it another fantastic night.

“A huge thank you goes to Wendy and all of the team at The Lock for their incredible support and kind donation; to the students from Tameside College for all of their help; to our wonderful models; and to our amazing retail teams whom we couldn’t do it without.

“Our six Fashion Shows combined have raised £20,000, which has really made a difference to patients with a life-limiting illness in our care.”

Following another successful event, the hospice says its Fashion Show will return in 2026.
