Dukinfield pub ready to reopen following six-figure refurbishment

A DUKINFIELD pub is set to open its doors once again following a six-figure refurbishment.

The Lodge, on Cheetham Hill Road, is under new management as Nataliya Denson will be at the helm when it begins business again on Thursday, October 23.

A £245,000 programme has been designed to breathe a new lease of life into the pub.

The Lodge will feature a newly revamped, spacious main bar area complete with brand new flooring, furniture, fixtures and fittings throughout as well as a separate, dedicated games room to upgrade the sports viewing experience.

On top of a state-of-the-art television screen complete with Sky Sports, TNT and horse racing, the sports room will host a brand-new pool table and dartboard.

Externally, The Lodge will host brand new lighting and signage to greet guests as well as a refreshed outdoor area seating between 100-120 people.

As part of the refurbishment, the beer garden will receive a brand-new outdoor television screen and an upgraded covered area featuring a new pergola, decked flooring and festoon lighting.

Nataliya will bring two decades of knowledge and expertise to The Lodge having previously been at the helm of several other popular community pubs.

She came to the UK 20 years ago and has lived in Rochdale with her husband, who is originally from there, ever since.

Now she boasts experience of working with other local businesses, schools and vital community causes and is committed to bringing this passion to The Lodge to ensure it acts a family-friendly social hub.

“I’m absolutely delighted to be taking over The Lodge and I can’t wait to reopen its doors to show off its brand new look and everything it has to offer,” she said.

“It’s such a brilliant community pub and this refurbishment is exactly what it needed to ensure it can sit at the heart of Dukinfield for many years to come.

“I’d like to thank the team at Proper Pubs for their support throughout this journey and I can’t wait to welcome everyone back!”

The Lodge will officially reopen at 5pm and will host a live performance from fantastic rock guitarist and vocalist, Ryan Gilmour, from 7pm.

It will offer a wide range of drinks promotions, including Wine Wednesday, where customers can get £2 off a bottle, Fizz Friday, offering customers a bottle of fizz for £10, along with cocktails, bottle and shot deals throughout the week.

In addition to the fantastic drinks selection, The Lodge will host a busy schedule of entertainment to further bring the community together including regular craft fairs, live music, pool, darts and dominoes evenings as well as bingo and quiz nights.

Moving forward, Nataliya hopes to host regular fundraising events in support a wide array of important community causes, including the local schools.

Nikki Greenhalgh, Operations Director for Proper Pubs, said: “I am thrilled to welcome our brand new operator, Nataliya, to The Lodge.

“It’s been a pleasure working with her to bring our vision for the pub to life and I’m confident that her hands-on experience within the pub sector, combined with her passion for the local community, will enable her and the team to create a vital community pillar that is enjoyed by all.

“On behalf of myself and the entire Proper Pubs team, I’d like to wish her the very best of luck for the reopening and I look forward to all that’s to come for The Lodge.”
