Community support event brings together local services in Ashton

RESIDENTS are being invited to explore the wide range of local support services available at a special community event taking place in Ashton next month.

The drop-in event, hosted by the Tameside Adult Safeguarding Partnership Board (TASPB), will be held at Holy Trinity Church on Tuesday, November 18, from 2pm to 4pm.

More than 20 local organisations will be on hand to offer information, advice and practical guidance to help people stay safe and well.

Among those attending are Tameside Adult Social Care, Greater Manchester Police’s Fraud Prevention Team, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service, Healthwatch, Age UK, Citizens Advice, and Tameside Carers Centre.

Other community groups taking part include Action Together, Diversity Matters Northwest, Willow Wood Hospice, and the Hyde Bangladesh Welfare Association, alongside NHS services and local council teams.

Executive Member for Adult Social Care Cllr John Taylor said:

“By working in partnership, we are bringing support out into our communities for people to access. Please come along to explore what’s available to help keep you and your family safe and well.”

The event forms part of National Adult Safeguarding Week (November 17–21), which aims to raise awareness of how organisations across Tameside are working together to support vulnerable adults and promote wellbeing.
