Treasure Island sets sail at Guide Bridge Theatre

PIRATES, mutiny and buried gold will take centre stage in Audenshaw as Guide Bridge Theatre brings a thrilling new adaptation of Treasure Island to life.

The week-long production promises swashbuckling adventure and high drama from Monday, October 13.

Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic tale is being reimagined for the local stage by acclaimed playwright Bryony Lavery, with direction from Jennifer Savill.

The story follows young Jim, who works at her grandmother’s inn before stumbling upon a mysterious map, pointing to a legendary hoard of treasure.

Drawn into a daring voyage aboard the Hispaniola, Jim encounters mutiny, shifting loyalties and the infamous Long John Silver – a pirate whose charm is as dangerous as his treachery.

The dark, atmospheric adaptation explores courage, wit and the lure of riches, keeping audiences on the edge of their seats as Jim battles to outsmart her cut-throat companions and seize her destiny.

The amateur production of Treasure Island will be at the Audenshaw Road venue from Monday, October 13, to Saturday, October 18.

Performances start at 7.30pm each night and there will also be a Saturday matinee at 2pm.

Tickets are £11 each or £9.90 for Guide Bridge Theatre members. They can be booked online at www.ticketsource.co.uk/gbt/e-ddvmga
