STUDENTS at Rayner Stephens High School are celebrating strong GCSE results, with the school reporting its best-ever number of top grade 9s.
This year has also seen more pupils at the Dukinfield school secure passes in English and Maths, alongside a rise in those achieving higher grades across a range of subjects.

The head teacher believes the results reflect the “ambition and determination” of the students, who have “demonstrated real resilience and dedication” throughout their studies.
“I am incredibly proud of all our students and the hard work they have put into their studies,” said Martin Davies.
“This year’s results represent another hugely positive step forward for our school and highlight the ambition we have for every young person here at Rayner Stephens.
“Our vision is that every student leaves with a strong set of GCSE results and the skills and confidence to go on to successful futures, and these achievements show how committed we are to that vision being realised.”

Among the particular achievements highlighted by the school is Maryam Dabbagh, who achieved three grade 9s and five grade 8s.
Meanwhile, Sadia Sadiq received two grade 9s and six 8s; Iman Adnan got four grade 9s, three 8s and a 7; and Denzel Samuel achieved a grade 9, five grade 8s and two grade 7s.
In a statement, the school said the partnership of students, families and staff has “helped deliver some of the strongest results in the school’s history”.
The Yew Tree Lane establishment – which has been part of the Stamford Park Trust since 2021 – is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year.
The Correspondent reported how the Deputy Prime Minister and local MP Angela Rayner recently visited the school to speak to students about her journey to power, resilience, politics and staying true to yourself.
