Incoming headteacher sees Audenshaw School pupils toast exam results

AUDENSHAW School saw the past and the future converge as now former pupils were joined by the incoming headteacher for GCSE results day.

A ‘bumper crop’ has been reported by the Hazel Street establishment, with 62 per cent of students achieving Grade 5 or above in English, while 55 per cent achieved Grade 5 or above in Maths.

Percentages of students achieving Grade 4 or above in English and Maths were an impressive 72 per cent and 76 per cent respectively.

And Holly Eckhardt, the incoming Principal, joined the celebrations.

She said: “It has been a privilege to share in the celebrations of the Class of 2025, and I would like to congratulate every one of them for their hard work and efforts.

“I would also like to thank not only their parents and carers for supporting them through their exams, but also the Audenshaw School staff, whose dedication, expertise and care over the years have culminated in these results.

“The achievements of the Class of 2025 are just the beginning of the next exciting chapter of their journey beyond Audenshaw School.

“Their results mark not just academic success, but the development of determined, capable young men ready to make their mark on the world.

“As they embark on the next exciting phase of their journey, we wish them every success; their achievements are a true testament to their character and resilience.”

Across all subjects, almost a third of grades awarded were at Grades 6-9, and close to 20 per cent were Grades 7-9.

Phillip Murphy, Vice Principal (Achievement & Standards) added: “2025 has added to the continued upward trend in results here at Audenshaw School.

“Once again, we see continued improvement across a broad range of subjects since examinations returned in 2022 – this is something which everyone at Audenshaw School should be proud of.

“A lot of our students are very happy – and rightly so.”

Kelly Breakell, Vice Principal (Student Personal Development & Support) continued: “The conduct of our Y11 students throughout their final year has been exemplary and this, combined with our outstanding attendance figure of 94.4 per cent – compared to the national secondary school average of 91 per cent – has undoubtedly been one of many contributing factors to another successful academic year.

“This commitment to consistent learning demonstrates the dedication of our students and the support of our families in prioritising their sons’ education.”
