THIS year’s GCSE results at Denton Community academy can be summed up in just three words – simply the best.
For teenagers have achieved record marks at the Taylor Lane school.
67 per cent of students overall achieved a pass in English and Maths, an improvement of five per cent on last year.
Of those, 52 per cent achieved a strong pass, eight per cent up on 2024.
There were many grade nines on show, with Luca’s seven followed by Ajani’s six – even more grade eights were collected.
Denton Community Academy’s principal Donald Cumming said: “I’m over the moon that the hard work and commitment of our students has been rewarded with these excellent results.
“It makes their effort and dedication worthwhile and, importantly, they allow our students to make ambitious and exciting choices for their future.
“The results are the culmination of years of hard work for our students and I’m absolutely delighted with their achievements.
“These are also the first outcomes for the new Denton Community Academy and are results that the community can be very proud of.
“I’d like to express my thanks to our staff for all that they do to enhance the life chances of our students – the results are testament to their support, passion and enthusiasm.
“The results also reflect the strength of our partnership with parents, carers and families and I must thank them too.
“What these results show clearly is the culture we have created at Denton Community Academy is one where all students can and will succeed.”
Associate senior executive principal Dean Buckley added: “Students and staff are to be congratulated for these results and should be very proud of what they’ve accomplished – we are certainly very proud of them all.
“They have worked exceptionally hard to achieve at these levels, and the results reflect the dedication and commitment they have shown.
“We’re delighted by these results, the second year of substantial improvement in outcomes at Denton Community Academy.
“The results are testimony to the vision of the trust to enhance the life chances of the young people in our care.

Denton Community Academy is part of Northern Education Trust, which sponsors 17 schools.
And its chief executive Jane Wilson said: “These results reflect the hard work and commitment of the staff and students within the academy.
