AROUND 150 cannabis plants and other drug paraphernalia were discovered by police during an early-morning raid in Audenshaw.
A 59-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of cultivation of cannabis.
Greater Manchester Police say five rooms full of plants at various stages of their growth cycle were uncovered at a property on Manchester Road on Wednesday morning (January 15).
Officers acted on intelligence they had gathered to execute the warrant and carry out a search, as part of work to combat drug supply across Tameside.
Police recovered approximately 150 plants along with “numerous paraphernalia, growing equipment and more”, a GMP spokesperson said.
They added that the arrested man remains in custody for questioning.
Sergeant Stuart Charlesworth, from GMP’s Tameside district, said they are committed to combating drug supply “in all its forms across our district”.
He added: “Drugs and the supply of them is a very serious matter and one which we dedicate numerous resources to tackling.
“Much of our intelligence comes from within communities themselves and I would urge anyone who has any concerns about suspicious behaviour to get in touch with their local neighbourhood team.”
