Man charged with attempted murder after Dukinfield incident

A MAN has been charged with attempted murder following an alleged stabbing in Dukinfield.

Greater Manchester Police officers launched a manhunt after an incident involving a woman in her 40s on Clarendon Street, near Ravensfield Primary School, on Wednesday, January 15.

Now 51-year-old Yong Feng Chen, of the Dagenham area of east London, has been charged.

He was remanded in custody ahead of an appearance at Stockport Magistrates Court on Friday, January 17.

And The Correspondent has learned he will remain there until Friday, February 21, when he will appear at Manchester’s Minshull Street Crown Court for a plea and trial preparation hearing.

Following urgent treatment at hospital, the woman is recovering and remains in a stable condition.

Enquiries into the incident are continuing, despite the charge.
