IT’S 10 years this month since Dogs Trust Manchester opened its rehoming centre in Denton.
The charity is inviting local dog lovers to join in the birthday fun at its party on Sunday (October 20).
The event runs from midday to 4pm at the centre on Parkway, where the Dogs Trust team find forever homes for dogs.
The celebrations include a dog show for visiting dogs to take part in – with classes such as Most Handsome Boy, Prettiest Lady, Cutest Puppy under 12 months, Best Rescue, and Best Golden Oldie.
There will also be a chance to get to know some of the dogs currently at the centre waiting to be rehomed, with three Rehoming Parades where they will take the limelight in the indoor agility ring and stalls selling doggie treats.
There will also be a raffle and the cafe will be open serving refreshments.
The centre’s manager has thanked everyone who has supported the team over the past decade.

“From the moment we opened our doors, the local community has been incredible,” said Lisa Eardley.
“Not only have we found thousands of dogs new families thanks to them, but they have been so generous, bringing us donations of everything from toys to blankets, raising money by running marathons, organising cake sales and so much more, and supporting our events from coffee mornings to our Christmas fairs.
“Plus, so many of them have joined our team as volunteers and foster carers and that means we can do so much more for our dogs whilst they are with us.
“We couldn’t do what we do without the support of the public and our volunteers, so we’d love to see as many people as possible at our tenth birthday party, so we can celebrate together.”
