TRAM users are being warned about a network-wide shutdown of the Metrolink which will affect the Ashton-under-Lyne line.
Transport for Greater Manchester say it’s part of “essential improvements” to “ensure the safety and efficiency of the tram service for many years to come”.
As part of these continuing autumn works, there will be a full closure of the network on Sunday, October 20, from the start of service until 9am.
As a result, no tram services will operate across all lines between those times – with no dedicated bus replacement service or ticket acceptance in place.
Once services resume, they will operate every 15 minutes between Ashton-under-Lyne and Eccles, via MediaCityUK.
On the other lines, they will run between Piccadilly and Crumpsall, Altrincham and Etihad Campus, Rochdale and East Didsbury via Exchange Square, Manchester Airport and Victoria, and Trafford Centre and Deansgate-Castlefield.
That day will also see additional works take place on the Bury line and the Rochdale line.
There will be no trams operating between Bury and Crumpsall throughout the whole of October 20, with a replacement bus service in place instead.
