A VITAL gathering that has proved so important in preventing loneliness by enabling people to socialise is getting ready to celebrate its third birthday.
Stalybridge Getting Together was established in 2021 as the country emerged from Covid-19 lockdowns, which resulted in a huge rise of people feeling isolated.
Its impact can be seen as friendly relations have been bolstered and new ones made at the Friday afternoon sessions.
Now on Friday, September 6, it will celebrate turning three with a special afternoon tea at New Stalybridge Labour Club, on Acres Lane.
Danny Power will be on DJ duties to get everyone up dancing and there will be a raffle and bingo, as well as the assortment of sandwiches and cakes.
The third birthday of Stalybridge Getting Together will take place from 2pm until 4pm. Admission is still only £2.
Everyone is welcome to come along and join in the celebrations.
