Families set to have a dino-tastic time in Ashton

SOME prehistoric fun will bring the summer holidays to a roar-some close in Ashton-under-Lyne town centre.

Families will be able to get their teeth stuck into some dinosaur-themed activities which will make sure having fun doesn’t become extinct!

It’s all happening on Saturday, August 31, from 11am to 2pm.

Ashton Market Hall will be hosting a Dino mask-making session, while there will be a chance to take part in a town-centre dinosaur hunt.

Dinosaurs will be hidden around Market Avenue, Ashton Library, Arcades Shopping Centre and Ladysmith Shopping Centre, with the first 12 people to complete the trail able to take home a mini dinosaur cutout.

That’s not all, as there will be a photo opportunity at the Jurassic Park gates between 11am and 12.30pm on the day.

And perhaps most amazing of all, meet some of the dinosaur babies when their handlers carry them around the town centre.

The free ‘Dino Fun Day’ event is the fourth of the year organised by Ashton Town Team, a voluntary group supporting the town centre’s independent businesses.

It’s being funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund Creative Communities Grant, awarded to Tameside Council from the Government.
