CHILDREN of St Joseph’s RC School in Mossley have stepped up, quite literally, to support a worthy cause.
Teaming up with HITS Radio presenter, reality TV personality and ‘King of the Jungle’ Sam Thompson, they’ve taken on the challenge of raising funds for the ‘One Million Steps’ campaign organised by charity ‘Cash for Kids’.

Sam Thompson, known for his adventures in the jungle, issued a call to schools nationwide to contribute steps towards the ambitious target of one million. However, it was the pupils of Market Street School who went above and beyond, leading the charge in this initiative.
To celebrate completion of their achievements, a gathering took place in the school playground on Thursday, May 2 when students were joined by Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service and HITS Radio.

The playground transformed into a party zone as pupils danced to music blasting from a fire engine that had rolled onto the scene. Some took up the challenge of handling the fire hose, spraying water around the play area under the watchful eyes of the firefighters.
The children managed to raise an impressive sum of more than £700.
The ‘One Million Steps’ campaign aims to support disadvantaged children across the region, providing them with essential resources and opportunities for a brighter future.
