THE UPPER floors of a former Hyde bank will be converted into apartments if planning permission is granted.
What was the HSBC branch on Market Place may now house three properties after an application was submitted to Tameside Council.

The area, at the heart of the new masterplan for the town centre, which will see Clarendon Square Shopping Centre demolished and rebuilt, will see more living accommodation put in,
And this plan, lodged by agent Debtal Architecture with Regaland and the Oslo Group also mentioned, would pave the way for that site to be transformed.
Two one-bedroomed apartments would be on the first floor of the building with a two-bedroomed property on the second.
Currently, they have offices and stores on them – the ground floor will see a bike store placed in and the current bin store moved.
Tameside Council’s Speaker’s Panel (Planning) committee will decide whether to grant or refuse planning permission.
So this is one apartment. Surely they ought to build a few more tower blocks not make one apartment which will presumably be high rent. Calling it a master plan leaves much to be proven.
Absolutely, bringing life to Hyde. Fantastic idea.
Who in the right mind would want to live there
