Car park refurb begins at Denton retail park

WORK has commenced at a retail park in Denton on a £1.1 million refurbishment of its car park.

The car park will undergo a transformation which bosses say is now expected to last 20 weeks, instead of 16 weeks which The Correspondent reported .

The work includes excavating the existing subsurface, relaying the surface and re-painting markers.

It will also include the addition of a new filter lane, which is aimed to ease congestion on adjacent Ashton Road and allow a quicker flow of traffic in and out of the centre.

The centre says it has put multiple measures in place to mitigate the impact to visitors.

The work is being split into eight phases to allow 75 per cent of the car park to remain open at all times, and the majority of the refurb will be completed overnight.

The work will also occur on weekdays, with the car park expected to return to full capacity over the weekends to cater for busier periods.

Alan Pruden-Barker, centre manager at Crown Point North, said: “The car park refurbishment is set to enhance visitor experience massively. This is something we’re always looking to improve so it’s fantastic we’re able to act on this following initial customer feedback.

“We appreciate the support so far from visitors and the surrounding community and thank them for bearing with us while we carry out these important updates.”
