SHOPPERS at a retail park in Denton are being warned that work to refurbish its car park will soon commence.
Crown Point North will see its car park refurbishment begin on Monday, January 29, and it’s expected to take around 16 weeks, so should be completed by the end of May.
The works, which will be completed in phases, will include changes to the shopping park entrance with the aim of easing traffic congestion on adjacent Ashton Road.
Anyone who has any questions about the works can email customer.services@britishland.com
The refurbishment will include excavating the existing road and car park surface and subbase, which will then be replaced with a new surface along with the replacement of rainwater drains and painted road markings.
The works will be split into eight phases to enable around 75 per cent of the car park to remain open for use.
Alan Pruden-Barker, Centre Manager at Crown Point North, said: “The final phase of the works will be the main entrance road that leads from the traffic lights on Ashton Road to Frankie & Benny’s, where a new filter lane will be introduced to allow an easier and quicker flow of traffic into the centre, ensuring customers can get parked quicker and the impact on surrounding roads is significantly reduced.
“Traffic management and temporary diversions will be in place at all times and during the excavation element of each phase, there is likely to be some noise and possible dust disruption, but this will be managed as far as is reasonably practicable and kept to a minimum.
“The car park adjacent to Frankie & Benny’s may have to be completed at a later date as this area will be used as a site compound area for the fit out/ construction teams for two new occupiers who are joining us in 2024 in units 1a, 1c & 1d.
“I’m sure you’ll agree, this refurbishment will make a huge difference to the centre and to the customer experience.”
