AN ASHTON-BASED charity has been forced to shelve activities after its base was devastated by a major leak.
An issue with the hot water pipe saw the Anthony Seddon Fund’s headquarters in George Street suffer severe damage, which was discovered on Friday, October 27.
As a result, volunteers have had to close the doors while the problems are assessed and dealt with.
And a Halloween Party scheduled for Saturday, October 28 has had to be cancelled, with refunds being arranged for anyone who bought tickets.
Alternative arrangements for the groups who meet at the Anthony Seddon Fund are also being sought.
A spokesman for the charity said: “We thought it was Autumn not Spring, but it appears we have ‘sprung’ a leak.
“We have had a major hot water leak in the middle of the night which has caused a lot of damage.
“We are devastated and apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.”
