Man sustains serious injuries after being stabbed in Hyde street

POLICE have appealed for witnesses following a serious assault in Hyde

Officer were called to Grange Road North on Sunday, May 7 at approximately 11.55pm.

Emergency services discovered man in his 20s had been stabbed, sustaining serious injuries to his chest. He has been taken to hospital for further treatment but thankfully the injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

A cordon was put in place at the scene but has now been removed. Road have re-opened.

Inspector Toby Knight from GMP Tameside district said: “We do believe that this was an isolated, targeted attack and that the wider community are not at risk. However, there will be an increased police presence over the next few days, to provide that reassurance.

“The investigation is still very much in the early stages, and we are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident last night or anyone who has any information or CCTV/dashcam/doorbell footage, to contact GMP on 0161 856 9262 quoting log number 4039 of 7/5/2023.
