Woman fighting for life after being struck by a vehicle in Stalybridge

POLICE have launched an appeal after a woman sustained life-threatening injuries in a road traffic incident in Stalybridge

Officers were called to Harridge Avenue area on Wednesday, May 3 at approximately 17:38 following reports of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle.

The 32-year-old was left with severe head injuries which results in North West Air Ambulance being required to assist which landed nearby at Brushes playing fields.

Greater Manchester Police’s Serious Collision Unit are now asking for any witnesses to come forward to help with their investigations.

Sergeant Louse Warhurst of SCIU said: “This was a tragic collision that has left a woman with severe head injuries.

“We are asking for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or was on Harridge Avenue around the time it happened and may have dashcam footage, to get in touch with us.
