A MAN has been released on bail after being arrested on suspicion of making threats to kill Ashton MP Angela Rayner.
The 34-year-old was picked up in the early hours of Monday, February 6 in the Hemlington area of Middlesborough in relation to a phone call on January 30.
He is the seventh arrest in relation to an ongoing investigation into threats and communications sent to Ms Rayner, deputy leader of the Labour Party.
So far, three people have been convicted and after being taken into custody for questioning, the latest man arrested has been released on conditional bail pending further enquiries.
The arrest was carried out by officers from Greater Manchester Police Tameside Division alongside officers from Cleveland Police.
