PUPILS at a Stalybridge primary school have been showing off their artistic side while being Keen to be Green to earn a prestigious award.
Silver Springs, on School Crescent, is now holder of the Arts Award Discover after children took part in sessions over a four-week period.

To achieve the level, pupils must explore the arts all around them, investigate different art forms, research an artist, and then share their discoveries with others.
They met and worked with an artist in Caroline Coates and the teacher who led the way to the award detailed what the children had achieved.
She said: “The children have been using different materials during the Keen to be Green project and the children decoded they wanted to do a jungle theme because of what they’d been learning in English.
“They produced beautiful artwork, all with recycled materials, and Caroline taught them how to use different effects using the materials.
“And they went on a wellbeing walk as well as part of it all and they’ve had a fantastic time, we’ve really enjoyed it.”
