MOSSLEY are six points from six in 2023 after a huge 2-1 win at fellow promotion chasers Runcorn Linnets – but they are only half way there.
For manager David Fish wants a delightful dozen in January.
Oumar Camara’s 73rd minute strike proved enough for the Lilywhites against a side that is above them in the Northern Premier League West Division table.
But they are now seven points above sixth-placed Clitheroe and with second-placed Leek and Workington, who sit in third, to come this month, Fish is in no doubt at what he wants to see.
He said: “We’ve got a difficult January, with six games and playing a lot of teams around us, so it’s in our hands.
“But I’ve set a target of a minimum of 12 points from this month.
“We had to dig in at times. Linnets are a good side, they’ve got a lot of quality and experience. They made us work very, very hard.
“However, we put our bodies on the line and stuck to our principles. The games against rivals are the ones you want to win.
“I’m really pleased for Oumar.”
Mason Fawns put Mossley ahead before Ryan Brooke equalised just before the hour but skipper Andy Keogh was ‘close to his best’ as he had a role in both goals.
