JOSH Hancock believes Curzon Ashton can now kick on after his double earned them a much-needed win.
Scott Boden’s strike put Buxton ahead but the home man’s follow-up of Tom Peers’ saved effort was quickly outshone by a 30-yard effort that flew in.
And the midfielder feels getting that first three points since November 26 will see Adam Lakeland’s side show what it can do in National League North.

He said: “It’s been a challenging time. Getting three points will give us a lot more confidence, the lads needed a win.
“It feels good to get a win, it was long overdue.”
Steve Cunningham got off to a dream start in charge of Ashton United as they ran out convincing 3-0 winners at Warrington Rylands in the Northern Premier League.
Jason Gilchrist’s debut double and Nathan Lowe’s free kick earned the Robins all three points after a 6-0 home loss to Hyde United saw Michael Clegg resign.

Cunningham told the club: “It had been a whirlwind four days and to be able to put in a performance like that is hopefully a bit of payback for the faith being shown in me by the co-chairmen and the whole board.
“The biggest praise has to go to the players, though. I couldn’t have asked for a better start.”

In the same division, Chris Dagnall’s header earned Stalybridge Celtic a point from their Northern Premier League trip to Lancaster, who took the lead through Dom Lawson.
Meanwhile, Denton Town’s Cheshire League tie at Knutsford, which had already been switched after burst pipes flooded the dressing rooms at Whittles Park, was rained off.
Dukinfield Town’s Manchester League game at Moorside Rangers also fell victim to the wet weather.
