A DENTON company has been shortlisted for a prestigious business award.
RVA Surveyors, of Alphagate Drive at the Denton Rock development, is one of five firms to be nominated for the family business category at the North West Business Masters.
And it is reward for the work put in over the 11 years it has been owned by the Hughes family, when it was known as The Rating and Valuation Agency.
They say they take pride in having created a long-serving workforce; forming a ‘family within the family’ atmosphere that emphasises growing and developing individuals from the local area.
RVA helps reduce the burden of business rates liability for business owners and leaders throughout England and Wales, with the overall aim to sustainably grow the business through employing people in the local community.
So far in 2022, the company has expanded to a workforce of nearly 130 people through programmes such as summer placements and their Graduate Trainee Scheme.
With further employment drives in the works – including another Graduate Surveying Programme which will see at least another six or seven trainees through its tailor-made programme – it is close to reaching its goal of 150 employees by the end of the year.
RVA will find out if it is a winner when the winners are announced on Thursday, November 10.
For Anthony Hughes, though, just being in contention is enough.
