TWO men who help make sure part of Audenshaw looks as good as it can have been honoured.
Joe Thompson and Jeff Watkin have given up many hours in the name of Ryecroft Hall.
Picking litter, pruning bushes, mowing the bowling green – you name it, they will do it.
And they were recognised by receiving Citizens Awards from local MP Andrew Gwynne.
After being nominated by Audenshaw councillors Teresa Smith and Charlotte Martin, the presentation was made at the recent Band in the Park event
Joe is always available to litter pick and help out with the gardening and bowling green, meanwhile Jeff gets stuck into weeding, pruning and basically lending a hand whenever necessary.
Mr Gwynne said “It was brilliant to be in Audenshaw to personally congratulate these two brilliant volunteers.
“Ryecroft Hall is the jewel in the crown of Audenshaw and it really is incredible the level of commitment the local volunteers put into the area.”
