MOSSLEY AFC Running Club has slowly started to return to normality with some events deferred from 2020 happening recently.
During October, there were three marathons in Chester, Manchester and York which required considerable training and resilience from participants following the lockdowns of the previous 18 months.
The club is now preparing for future events in Liverpool and Manchester, plus the winter cross-country season.
Four members completed the Chester Marathon, Fay Hopwood finishing in five hours, husband-and-wife Stuart and Julie Williamson in 5hrs 14min and Nicola Steen 5:15.
Also on the same day was the Chester Metric Marathon which was 26.2 kilometres with Ugur Capar finishing in 2hrs 2 mins.
Father-and-son Steve and Paul Bates ran the London Marathon in 5:33.
Twelve members completed the Manchester Marathon, Joe Carroll the quickest finisher in 3:22.
The other participants were Emma Bowen 3:34, Danielle Butler 3:49, Tom Smith 3:52, Jonathan Charles 3:55, Angela Dewhurst 4:16, Karl Law 4:21, Lee Slingsby 4:21, Steve Grainger 4:40, Bernadette Mattison 4:51, Shannon Gill 5:44, Neil Thomas 6:34.
Lesley Moreland and Emma Welsh finished the Yorkshire Marathon in 5:02, Tony Berry 5:23 and Lorraine Gibbs 6:38.
