Home is where the art is at Woodend Mill

AFTER hosting a successful summer exhibition, artists at Woodend Mill in Mossley are now holding a Christmas Art Fair on November 20 and 21.

To be held in Woodend Mill 2, off Manchester Road, the festive event provides opportunity for visitors to view the community’s latest projects and some of their new ideas for Christmas.

Linda Edwards, based on level three, recently returned from London having exhibited at the Truman Brewery.

In addition to the art fair weekend, Linda is working towards her ‘Colour and Light exhibition’ at Saddleworth Museum in Uppermill in May 2022.

Also on level three, Susan Aggarwal has successfully produced her new designer cushion range and hand painted lampshades.

There will be also a selection of glass painted festive pieces including vases, bowls and candle holders.

Sheila Meeks recently held an exhibition of her work at Didsbury Parsonage Trust. Now back in the studio, she is working on a series of oil paintings capturing her visually favourite seasons, autumn and winter.

Judith Alsop Miles paints atmospheric watercolours of the local landscape inspired by her walks around Saddleworth. In her studio – W2/211 – she will have a range of paintings prints and cards for sale.

New to the collective is Dee from Brookes florists based on the ground floor by the car park entrance.

They have an array of floral arrangements, hand designed for all occasions by Dee herself, plus a selection of Christmas gifts.

Other studios available to visit include Colin Rowe on level two with range of gift items wooden crafts. Helen Robson will also be opening her Ragtime textiles on level 2.

The Art Fair will be open from 10am to 4pm on Saturday and Sunday.
