Hyde man convicted of racially aggravated verbal attack and banned from the roads

A HYDE man has been banned from the road for 20 months for drink driving and was also convicted of a racially aggravated verbal attack.

The Vauxhall Zafia driven by George Bridge, 26, was stopped by police on King Street, Dukinfield, and was found to have exceeded the drink drive limit.

Bridge, who pleaded guilty at Tameside Magistrates Court, was handed a 20-day community order, 50 hours unpaid work and ordered to pay £100 compensation.

In relation the same incident, Bridge admitted using threatening, abusive or insulting words to cause another person harassment, alarm or distress and the offence was racially aggravated.
