Tree-sy does it in Carrbrook

STAFF at a store made sure the community surrounding it have a festive focal point by getting its own tree.

Raja Bros on Huddersfield Road in Carrbrook has had one put into the land surrounding it and the soon-to-be created new premises in what was the Buckton Castle pub.

Staff member Lisa Doherty co-ordinated the funding of its purchase and was helped decorate it by Rosemary Maken from the nearby Carrbrook Community Hub.

Choosing the decorations was the responsibility of Natalie Lewis while Jennie Dodds made giant snowflakes that adorn it. Local business, ‘Sophia’s sweet little things’ also kindly contributed.

Others can be added to it, as well as festive wishes.

Rosemary said: “With the hub being closed we wanted something for the children to be able to access.

“Anybody is welcome to come visit the tree and add decorations. They can add their Christmas wishes to it too.

“We want to light up the community and spread Christmas spirit in what’s been a difficult year.”
