TAMESIDE Rotary increased the size of its club by 20 per cent within the space of several hours.
The new membership evening at the Village Hotel, Ashton, was a resounding success.
Rotarian Angela Robbins said: “We incredibly increased the size of our club by 20 per cent.
“The chair movement, as featured in the photograph, went into overdrive to fit everyone in. In fact, it could be like Peter Kay’s Christmas and we have someone on a deck chair and another on a stool brought in from next door in future meetings!
“We had lots of younger people too, so we are thrilled to now have nearly 40 members.”
Anyone wishing to find out more, can attend the next monthly meeting at Dukinfield Golf Club on Tuesday, March 10 at 7pm.
