THE Kids Zone Nursery Group has raised more than £1,000 for local charity Reuben’s Retreat. The group, which operates Hyde Woodland Day Nursery, held a raffle at its six nurseries to raise money and awareness of the children’s charity.
Reuben’s Retreat is a home-from-home retreat for families bereaved of a child and for children with life limiting or threatening conditions and their parents and siblings.
The charity was born in memory of Reuben Michael Graham who tragically passed away in August 2012, aged 23 months.
Desperate to ensure his short but precious life was not in vain, Reuben’s mother Nicola started the charity to help other families walking a similar path.
Carole Melia, CEO of Kids Zone, thanked parents and staff for their generous donations and support, an impressive total of £1,009.54. The money will go towards supporting families who need respite and support.
The cheque was handed to Reuben’s Retreat at the Boat House Day Nursery, Dukinfield.
