A MOSSLEY family funeral service has expanded into new premises as it looks to provide additional facilities for local families.
Anthony Barton Independent Family Funeral Services has opened a second site at Rivergate House on Carrhill Road.
This adds a dedicated mortuary, Chapel of Rest and private arranging room to its existing funeral home on Stamford Street.
The original premises at 63 Stamford Street, opposite Mossley Fire Station, remain open.

The expansion comes after the independent funeral service supported hundreds of families across Mossley and surrounding communities.
The new mortuary provides a private and secure setting where loved ones can be cared for, while the Chapel of Rest gives families a dedicated space to spend time with relatives following their death.
Anthony said the new space has been designed to allow families to say goodbye in their own way, whether that means sitting together, holding a loved one’s hand or simply spending a few quiet moments together.

A private arranging room has also been created, giving families a quieter setting in which to discuss funeral arrangements and make decisions at what can be an extremely difficult time.
The funeral service says the expansion is about more than simply adding facilities, with the focus remaining on providing a personal service to families in the local community.
“Every person who comes through our doors has their own story, their own family and their own wishes,” it said.
“We believe that those differences should be respected and reflected in the way a funeral is arranged and in the way a person is cared for.”

As an independent, family-run business, Anthony Barton Independent Family Funeral Services says the additional premises will allow it to offer families greater choice, privacy and comfort while maintaining its existing approach.
“Being an independent, family-run funeral service means that we can take the time to listen,” it said.
“We are here not only to arrange the practical aspects of a funeral, but to offer reassurance, guidance and a friendly face when families may be feeling lost or overwhelmed.”
The business said its original Stamford Street premises will continue to form an important part of its service, while the new Carrhill Road facilities will provide additional space for the care of loved ones and support of their families.
