A HYDE primary school is celebrating a decade of learning, growth and achievement as it marks 10 years since first opening its doors.
Discovery Academy Hyde opened in September 2016 and has grown and developed over the past decade, with staff, pupils and families now coming together to celebrate its 10th anniversary.
The milestone is being marked throughout the academic year, recognising the achievements of pupils as well as the contribution of staff, governors, families and the wider Hyde community.

Celebrations have already got under way, with pupils enjoying a special inflatable event to launch the anniversary year.
Further activities, displays and events are planned, giving children and the wider school community opportunities to celebrate Discovery Academy’s journey and look back at memories from its first 10 years.
Executive Headteacher Bev Oldham said: “Reaching our 10-year anniversary is a wonderful achievement and a moment of great pride for everyone connected with Discovery Academy Hyde.
“This celebration recognises the hard work of our staff, the support of our families and, most importantly, the achievements of our children.
“While we are proud of how far we have come, we are equally excited about the future and our continued commitment to providing exceptional opportunities for every pupil.”
Discovery Academy is part of Victorious Academies Trust, which operates 15 academies across the area.
Since opening, the school has focused on providing a nurturing learning environment and helping children develop their skills, knowledge and confidence.
Its anniversary celebrations will continue throughout the year, providing an opportunity to recognise the people who have played a part in the school’s first decade while looking ahead to its future.
