SNAKES, tarantulas and other creepy creatures will be taking over an Ashton shopping centre as part of a free Halloween event for families.
Ladysmith Shopping Centre will host its Spooktacular Halloween event on Thursday, October 29, from 11am until 3pm, during the half-term holidays.
Youngsters will have the chance to get up close to a range of animals, including slithering snakes and hairy tarantulas.
Expert handlers will be on hand throughout the day to introduce the creatures, share facts about them and answer questions from visitors.
There will also be free glitter tattoos for children as part of the Halloween activities.
Centre manager Ian Pratt said: “We are delighted to be bringing back our incredibly popular Spooktacular Halloween event for the Ashton community.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity for families to enjoy a free day out during half term while learning more about some creepy creatures.
“We look forward to welcoming visitors to Ladysmith Shopping Centre for what promises to be a fun-filled day.”
All activities will be free, although visitors will be encouraged to make a donation to the shopping centre’s charity of the year, Prime Active Communities (PAC) CIC.
The Manchester-based Community Interest Company supports young people across Greater Manchester, working alongside councils, housing associations, community groups and the police.
Its programmes aim to provide young people with opportunities to develop their skills, confidence and involvement in their communities.
Ladysmith Shopping Centre is based in the centre of Ashton-under-Lyne and is home to a mix of independent businesses and high street brands.
