MUSIC from some of the best-known shows and films will fill Stalybridge Victoria Market Hall when the Greater Manchester Police Band performs a special one-off concert in aid of two charities.
The concert is being staged by the High Sheriff of Greater Manchester, Mark Llewellin DL, who wanted to put on an event in his home borough of Tameside.
The Music from Stage and Screen concert will take place on Saturday, October 24, with the GMP Band joined by the force’s Fanfare Team and guest soloists for an evening of brass music.
The concert will feature classic music that audiences are likely to recognise, with the event hosted by Eamonn O’Neal OBE DL.
Doors at the venue in Armentieres Square will open at 7pm and the performance begins at 7.30pm. The concert is due to finish by 9.30pm.
Mark said: “As a Tameside resident, I wanted to stage something special in the borough. I’m thrilled that the Greater Manchester Police Band offered their services along with the ceremonial fanfare team for a one-off evening of music from stage and screen – music we will all recognise.
“It’s taking place at Stalybridge Victoria Market Hall right in the town centre on Saturday, October 24, and tickets are just £15 each. All the ticket monies will be donated to two great causes, Willow Wood Hospice and Alzheimer’s UK – two charities very close to my heart.”
The event will be attended by the High Sheriff alongside the Lord-Lieutenant of Greater Manchester.
