A STALYBRIDGE student is celebrating an impressive set of A-Level results after securing her place to study Medicine at the University of Leeds.
Emily, who attends Abbey College Manchester, achieved three A grades in Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics – securing her a place on the highly competitive medical degree.
She also received five university offers during the application process, including four offers to study Medicine at Russell Group universities.
Reflecting on her time at the Manchester city-centre college, Emily said the small-group approach had helped her build confidence and make progress academically.
“Studying at Abbey College Manchester has been an incredibly positive experience,” she said.
“The small group learning environment allows for personalised teaching and has meant I’ve always felt well supported academically. All staff are approachable, dedicated and always willing to offer extra help, which made a huge difference to my confidence and progress throughout the year.
“I’m especially grateful for the support of the UCAS advisors, whose guidance and expertise throughout the medicine application process were invaluable in helping me secure five out of five university offers, including four medicine offers from various Russell Group universities.”

Emily will now head to Leeds to begin the next stage of her journey towards a career in medicine.

Abbey College Manchester is an independent college in Manchester city centre for students aged 15 to 19 and is part of the Abbey DLD Group of Colleges.
The college has around 220 students from the local area and overseas, with courses including A-levels, GCSEs and International Foundation Programmes.
Its teaching model centres on small classes and personalised learning, with a particular focus on preparing students for university and academically demanding courses such as Medicine.
