AN ASHTON-UNDER-LYNE wellness centre is offering a different approach to relaxation.
Tucked away in Clarence Arcade on Stamford Street Central, The Ark Manchester combines sound frequencies, quartz and biometric scanning in a bid to help people reset both physically and mentally.
In what it describes as a personalised nervous system regulation experience, beginning and ending with a biometric wellness scan to measure factors such as stress, energy and heart rate variability, the results are then emailed to clients, allowing them to compare their readings before and after the session.

The centre’s signature treatment sees visitors spend about 30 to 40 minutes lying on a quartz-lined bed while listening to carefully selected sound frequencies tailored to the areas they would like to work on, whether that’s relaxation, stress management, focus or improved wellbeing.
The combination of sound therapy and quartz is designed to promote nervous system regulation in a calm and non-invasive environment.
I recently experienced the treatment for myself and found it to be an incredibly relaxing experience.
I left feeling calmer and more energised, with staff explaining that many people notice the benefits continue to develop over the days following a session as the body responds to the treatment.
The before-and-after scans also offered an interesting insight into how my body reacted during the experience.

According to The Ark, about 90 per cent of sessions show measurable improvements across the biometric readings taken before and after treatment, with many clients reporting better sleep, reduced stress, improved focus and increased energy levels.
As with any complementary wellness therapy, individual experiences can vary.
The Ashton centre is one of several Ark locations across the UK and Ireland and offers a range of session lengths, with each including an initial consultation, biometric scans and a personalised sound experience.
For anyone looking to switch off from the pressures of everyday life and try something different, the experience provides a peaceful environment dedicated to rest, relaxation and wellbeing, while also offering measurable data for those interested in seeing how their body responds.
