Free Tameside event to connect residents with jobs, advice and local support

RESIDENTS who are currently out of work are being invited to a free event in Hyde aimed at helping people access employment opportunities, advice and support from local organisations.

The Together for Tameside drop-in event is open to anyone aged 16 and over who lives in Tameside and is unemployed.

It will take place on Friday, July 3, from 10am to 1pm at Hyde Town Hall on Corporation Street.

The event will bring together a range of local services under one roof, giving residents the chance to speak directly with teams offering support around employment, volunteering, benefits, housing, finances, health and wellbeing, digital skills and community activities.

Attendees will have the opportunity to speak directly with local teams and access support on a wide range of topics.

Organised by Tameside Council, the event is designed to help people find out what support is available locally and explore their next steps, whether that is moving towards work, improving wellbeing or becoming more involved in their community.

Councillor Leanne Feeley, Executive Member for Lifelong Learning and Culture, said: “Events like this are all about making support easy to access and bringing opportunities closer to our residents.

“Together for Tameside gives our residents the chance to speak directly with local organisations, get tailored advice, and take positive steps towards employment and improved wellbeing. I’d encourage anyone currently out of work to come along and see what support is available.”
