COMMUNITY schemes across Tameside are set to get a funding boost as almost £600,000 of money will be allocated.
The borough’s council received £1.5 million from the Pride In Place Impact Fund, alongside £20 million each for Ashton-under-Lyne and Hattersley.

Now the second round of bids will be decided at the meeting of the executive cabinet on Wednesday, June 24.
And if approved, some nine projects will receive the full allocation they applied for, while another three will be handed sizeable sums.
Of the nine, Denton West Cricket Club will get just over £55,000 for a lift to be installed in its new clubhouse, so the first-floor changing rooms are full accessible.
The nearby Dane Bank Green Space charity will get more than £36,000 so it can build a small, accessible outdoor community theatre with seating for a minimum of 30, followed by a programme of community-led events and activities.
And the access road to both, as well as West End FC and West End Riding School, will be improved at the cost of £27,670 as its current condition is ‘having significant impact upon the operations of the tenants and poses a potential threat to health and safety.’
7th Stalybridge Scouts would receive £72,950 for a new hut after highlighting issues with the current building on North Road.
These include a lack of accessibility, insultation and leakages and it would enable the building to become available for other community use.

Some £40,000 will be allocated to infrastructure and public area improvements in Haughton Green.
While Stalybridge Archery Club, which The Correspondent highlighted is looking to upgrade its facilities, is in line for just over £42,000 for updates to its current facility prior to support with the building of a new clubhouse.
This includes the removal of trees, the design and planning process for a new clubhouse, upgrading the outdoor shooting range, conducting a biodiversity and ecology and tree survey and upgrading the power supply.
3rd Gee Cross Scouts would be granted £16,000 for the construction of a safe, permanent access link between its hut on Nether Street and the adjacent camping ground.
Newton Cricket Club will be awarded £26,702 for updates to the current toilet facilities, including a disabled facility.
And Hyde Little Theatre, on Market Street, would get £38,500 for essential building upgrades, including electrical upgrades and LED lighting refurbishment.
It would also see the conversion of garage spaces into changing and rehearsal facilities, and the replacement of an external concrete retaining fence.

The Pride In Place Impact Fund is designed to deliver visible improvements that rebuild community pride by March 2027.
The Ashton and Hattersley allocations mean those areas cannot be included in this £1.5 million sum, of which £582,081 Is earmarked.
Some would only receive part funding, including Ridge Hill Community Medical Centre’ plan to convert the shop units it is housed in into a GP surgery, with the possibility of expanding into further units to create a Community Medical Centre.
That would get only £53,390 of the £180,000 it asked for.
Tameside Digital Community Hub Fit Out and Skills Workshop will get £82,000 after requesting £178,644 for providing more technological equipment to those who need it, alongside expanding their offer with a training centre. Recommend part funding this application. Full funding requested was £178,644.
While The Vale in Mossley will receive half of the £179,720 it asked for to complete unfinished elements, alongside essential environmental and sustainability improvements.
According to documents, the £89,860 will deliver either the creation of a new visual arts studio space and the expansion of solar capacity, or outdoor space improvements and the completion of a community studio and accommodation space.
