Stalybridge Brownies and Rainbows enjoy hands-on visit to fire station

The visit formed part of the group’s activities programme

BROWNIES and Rainbows from St Raphael’s in Stalybridge were given a look behind the scenes at the town’s fire station.

The youngsters explored a fire engine, tried on firefighters’ uniform and even got the chance to test out firefighting equipment while learning important fire safety advice from the station crew.

One of the highlights of the visit saw the girls using the fire hoses and getting a closer look at the equipment used by firefighters in emergencies.

Unit leaders said: “The girls had a great time, and the station staff answered all their questions. They loved trying out the hoses and dressing up.”

The visit formed part of the group’s activities programme and gave members a fun and educational insight into the work carried out by firefighters in the local community.
