Mossley AFC say farewell to duo as club prepares for next season

TWO of Mossley AFC’s most influential players have decided to move on to pastures new.

Midfielder Gee Baltazar and winger Obua “Obz” Mugalula have both left the Lilywhites, bringing an end to spells which saw the pair become popular figures both on and off the pitch.

Baltazar made 74 appearances for Mossley, scoring six goals during his time with the club, while Mugalula featured 89 times after arriving from Stalybridge Celtic and netted 18 goals.

Beyond their contributions in the Northern Premier League West Division, both players earned praise for their involvement within the local community.

The duo regularly represented the club at events including Whit Friday and the Mossley Christmas Lights Switch-On, while also building a strong rapport with supporters throughout their time at Seel Park.

The club said the players are leaving on good terms and with the appreciation of everyone connected to Mossley AFC.

While two familiar faces are departing, Mossley have already moved quickly to strengthen ahead of the 2026/27 season.

Striker Charlie Frost has agreed to join Alex Craddock’s side, after an impressive campaign split between Hyde United and Trafford FC.

Frost first caught the eye with Nelson FC, where he scored 34 goals during the 2024/25 season, before netting 10 times in just 13 appearances for Trafford after making the mid-season switch from Hyde.

Mossley supporters will also welcome back a familiar name this summer, with Bailey Marsden recently returning on a one-year deal.

He originally joined the club in 2021 and went on to make 100 appearances for the Lilywhites before leaving for full-time football with King’s Lynn Town during the 2024/25 campaign. Last season the midfielder featured for Marine AFC in National League North before injury disrupted his progress.

Marsden scored seven goals during his first spell at Mossley and became a key part of the side across four seasons.

As we recently reported, talismanic forward Mason Fawns has extended his stay in a major boost for the club.
