Crowds packed into Ashton-under-Lyne as the town’s annual Sci-Fi Day returned in spectacular style.
The popular event saw a host of characters take over the town centre, with families and fans turning out in large numbers to enjoy the day’s entertainment.
Among the highlights were appearances from iconic Chewbacca and R2-D2, who proved a big hit with visitors of all ages.
Organised by Hyde Fundraisers, the free event transformed the area around the Ladysmith Shopping Centre into a lively celebration of sci-fi, film and fantasy.
Visitors enjoyed a mix of costumed characters, themed stalls and family-friendly activities, creating a fun and welcoming atmosphere throughout the day.
Sci-Fi Day has become a firm favourite in the local calendar, bringing the community together while also supporting charitable causes.
Organisers thanked everyone who attended, saying the turnout made it one of the most successful events yet.
