A PROLIFIC burglar who targeted homes, businesses and vehicles across Tameside during a four-week crime spree has been jailed for five years.
Callum Daniels, 37, of no fixed abode, was sentenced at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court on Wednesday (April 29) after pleading guilty to 19 offences committed between December 2025 and January 2026.

The offences took place in Ashton-under-Lyne and Audenshaw and included burglaries, attempted break-ins and thefts from vehicles, leaving more than 20 victims affected.
Police said Daniels carried out a string of overnight offences, targeting both residential properties and local businesses.
On December 19, 2025, he broke into a business on Stockport Road by gaining access through the roof before stealing property. He later returned to another premises on two separate occasions, forcing entry and stealing cash, alcohol and cigarettes.
In January, Daniels moved on to homes in Ashton, attempting to force doors, searching vehicles and, in one case, entering a family home while the occupants were asleep upstairs. During that burglary, he stole high-value items including laptops, a games console and bank cards.
Officers from GMP’s Tameside Neighbourhood Crime Team linked Daniels to the offences through CCTV footage, clothing comparisons and recovered stolen property before arresting him on January 20, 2026.
Sergeant Playford, from the Tameside Neighbourhood Team, said: “Callum Daniels carried out a sustained series of offences which caused fear and disruption across several communities. His actions showed a clear pattern of targeting homes and vehicles during the night, regardless of the impact on victims.
“In total, more than 20 victims across Tameside were impacted, with losses including cash, personal belongings, household items and damage to properties.
“This sentence reflects the seriousness of his offending and sends a clear message that burglary and associated crimes will not be tolerated. Residents can remain vigilant by ensuring doors and windows are securely locked, removing valuables from vehicles and reporting suspicious behaviour immediately.”
Police are continuing to encourage residents to report suspicious behaviour and take extra precautions to protect their homes and vehicles.
