A STALYBRIDGE nursery is celebrating after completing an Ofsted turnaround.
Sky High Achievers Stalybridge, on Silverthorne Close, achieved five ‘strong’ standards and one ‘expected’ in its latest inspection under the new framework.
That represents a significant shift since Sky High Achievers Nurseries took over the setting in 2023, when it had previously received two inadequate judgments.
Under the reformed Ofsted framework, a ‘strong’ judgement reflects practice that goes beyond expected standards, highlighting the nursery’s commitment to delivering exceptional early years education and care.
Inspectors recognised strong leadership, noting: “Leaders are passionate and this shines through the setting… resulting in a committed team who feel valued and take pride in what they do.”
The report also highlighted the impact of ongoing professional development, with staff benefitting from high-quality training that strengthens their knowledge and enhances outcomes for children.
And inspectors added: “Staff implement a highly inclusive and ambitious curriculum… ensuring all children can access the curriculum and achieve well from their starting points.
“Children show excellent levels of consideration towards their friends… they share, take turns and resolve conflicts independently.
“Children take part in kindness walks… demonstrating thoughtfulness by offering flowers to members of the local community.
“Parent and carer partnerships are a strength… they exclaim how staff are invested in supporting each child to reach their full potential.”
Kim Bowers, nursery manager in Stalybridge, said: “We are incredibly proud of this achievement
“It reflects the dedication, passion and professionalism of our entire team.
“Most importantly, it reflects the wonderful children and families we are privileged to work with every day.”
Fiona Jones, nursery owner at Sky High Achievers Nurseries, added: “We are incredibly proud of how far we have come.
“When we took over the nursery in 2023, we knew there was significant work to do. This transformation has been driven by robust policies, strong leadership, supportive and knowledgeable head office team and a clear vision for excellence.
“We have invested heavily in our people, training and development, and creating a culture where children are safe, nurtured and inspired to succeed.
“Every team member has worked together to make such a huge impact and change for all our families.
“I am so extremely proud of everyone involved.”
